Discovery can occur across venues and related instruments. Arbitrage links prices, while frictions, halts and asymmetric information can slow the process.
Look at spread, depth, volume, venue coverage and event timing. Separate an executable price from an indicative or stale quote.
A market price is useful evidence of current clearing, not proof of intrinsic value or future direction. Thin markets can be especially fragile.
