Order types, hours and routing depend on the provider. News calls and later disclosures can update the information set throughout the session.
Use timestamped prints and quotes, identify the session and compare with the next regular open and close. Avoid mixing extended and regular prices without stating it.
A dramatic after-hours move may occur on small volume and can reverse. It is not automatically the price a normal-sized order could achieve.
